Patek journey (part 2) Thorstein's Simple Epiphany

My love of Patek started with misunderstanding and a heavily bruised ego. A young boy doesn't have to be convinced that a girl is pretty. He knows it because his sensory criteria are simply and completely satisfied, he sees her day-in and day-out and that

Frederique Constant is notorious

But it's still a demerit, unfairly, but still for JLC. They have to be one step ahead of design 'thieves' even if the thievery is an homage or simply classic design--JLC must play better chess. With that said, I like the new JLC Masters a lot, and of cour

Frederique Constant Perpetual Calendar

A friend lent me his FC perpetual as I was floored by the design and execution of this watch. The watch is 40mm diameter with a pleasing sub-dial layout that is not scrunched towards the center. The dial has a sunray salmon colored finish that changes its

I remember when it was about how many tourbillons can you fit into a movement/dial?

In the last years the new trend focuses (too much) on finishing. It's rare to see a new escapement and most of the time it's just an update or minor improvement of old escapements. Don't get me wrong, there's absolutely a great quality because hand finish

Very nice to hear and see that FC tourbillion

I saw the Frederique Constant is also getting in tourbillions. And at price points that are relatively reasonable too. I went to a Roger Dubuis presentation a few weeks ago, and that is where I finally decided I "need" a tourbillon. (Like it's a must. Ha
